It took over a year! Before the electricity was connected and all was installed to start the lessons, but finally we got it organized....Computer lessons !
We have started with a group of youngster, interested in learning all about it. We are very happy to see girls joining in as well.
After a few months we will also start with lessons for the pupils of the 6th and 7th grade of the primary school. Hopefully they will be interested to learn as well, to be prepared for the secondary school!
With having public computers in the community, they are also used by the leaders of the community and mosques, school teachers and the rest of the community for all the formal letters and things they want to do. With a printer/copier at hand, they are able to use it as a copy shop as well. But they will need to pay a bit for the ink/paper use.
It looks like Cabaceira has arrived in the 21 th century....
After being the benjamin of development within Mozambique the community of Cabaceira Pequena is now rapidly evolving. In this blog we will report on the implications and the projects.

Up date orphans
Since some of the orphans have moved to live with other family in other communities, we now in total support 30 children. Every weekday they receive a cooked lunch, their school is paid for, they receive 2 cloth sets a year and the houses of the family that they live in is being rehabilitated. So far we finished the houses of 14 children, but still we have enough to go...
Up date rehabilitation on the 4 mosques and Madrassa
With the money we received we started in June with the rehabilitation of the 4 mosques and this month the last one will be finished.
Here are some pictures of two of them;
This is the first one: The Mosque that you see when entering Cabaceira and which dates back to (they say) the 14th century...
When the last one is finished they will be proud to show the other 2 as well. The rehabilatation is always a joint effort. Besides this money, also the people part of the congregation tip in with labour or money as well.
After finishing the rehabilitation of the 4 mosques, a madrassa will be realized. At the moment it is a very basic building and the objective is to transform it to a proper school.

up date primary school & pre-school
Also the primary and pre-school in Cabaceira Pequena has started again in Februari. Both opened their doors for the new students. Some of the children from the pre-school that we started 2 years ago, now went to the primary school. We are very curious how they will be doing.... Will they have an advance on the other pupils, with the things they have learned on the pre-school? We will keep you posted!
Up date students secondary school 2016
The new school year has started! And this year we will support 9 children at the secondary school.
Last year 6 started in the first year and 1 dropped out. He wasn't motivated to continue. But I am happy to say that both girls still are very eager to continue, together with the other 3 boys, so we will see what their results this year will be.
After 3 years at the secondary school, the 5 first group of boys finished the first part of the secondary school Before continuing they had to do a final exam. Unfortunately one, didn't pass, but he decided to try again. The others didn't want to stop studying! So all of them continued to the second part of the secondary school, which is another 2 years. We are confident that they will succeed and we wish them all the best!
